A suitable anti slip step edge can help reduce accidents such as slips and trips as well as helping to provide an accessible environment to all building users. They form part of the guide contained in the Building Regulations (K&M) and the BRE paper that guides for the requirements of the Equality Act (2010). 

Typically made with an aluminium carrier that is fixed to the step edge they can be used in conjunction with carpet, vinyl flooring, ceramic tiles with options to be used without a floor covering straight onto a concrete or metal step such as an outside exterior step or fire escape staircase.
